ANNUAL REPORT-2024

Michigan Medicine Office of Development

Eric Barritt Senior Associate Vice President Chief Development Officer

A Message From the Chief Development Officer

It is an incredible honor to help raise funds to support the mission of one of the country’s premier academic medical centers. In fiscal 2024, 31,752 gifts of all sizes totaled $208.5 million, driving innovation in patient care, lifesaving research, the education of tomorrow’s health care leaders, and advances in health equity.

We have one of the most robust development programs among public universities, and we are grateful for Michigan Medicine’s investment in our work. It costs 11 cents to raise a dollar here, four cents less than the average identified by the Association of American Medical College’s 2023 Development Survey.

Faculty, staff, and leadership are at the heart of our success, and we appreciate the thoughtfulness with which the entire Michigan Medicine team demonstrates commitment and appreciation to our donors and friends. In FY24, we were actively preparing to launch the Look to Michigan fundraising campaign, which we did in October. We hope this summary of the activity leading up to the launch captures the excitement and momentum that we are building on as we strive to reach a $2.3 billion goal to propel Michigan Medicine’s impact on our state and the world.
