AMBIENT CT

Transforming the CT experience for patients

To help patients feel more at ease during a CT scan, unique ambient lighting was installed at UM Health-West this past spring.

From the Northern Lights to a sunrise over mountains, patients can choose from 500 calming nature images and a variety of colors to make their scan feel more comfortable. It also improves safety by increasing compliance and reducing procedure time, with measurable positive feedback demonstrating that it creates a caring environment that supports healing.

"Our ambient lighting project uniquely enhances the patient experience by reducing stress and giving patients greater control over their environment. This innovation benefits both patients and staff, setting a new standard for compassionate, high-quality care."
